VOTE SWALLEN

Choose Joanna Swallen for a better OHIO

We have enough lawyers and political appointees on the ORSCC (Ohio Republican State Central Committee) and it is time to get more people persons on the committee. We need Republicans that are approachable and can connect with ordinary Ohioans. We don't need more people that are only there for status, ulterior motives, and to nod their head yes for the establishment and business as usual.

WHY VOTE FOR JOANNA AND NOT JANE?

  • Joanna Swallen

  • Successful Business Owner

  • Marketing Professional

  • Did not lose a US Senate Race

  • Did not support Governor DeWine's mandates

  • Did not lie to Republicans about making no endorsements in the primary and then endorsed Governor DeWine IN THE PRIMARY

  • Has not implemented any "woke" LGBTQ+, CSR, or ESG ideologies at her business

  • Genuinely concerned about Ohio and have worked regularly with Conservative grassroots activists donating time, effort, money, and facilities

  • Did not make excuses for US House Representative Anthony Gonzales voting to impeach Trump

  • Has never been booed by the audience at a speaking engagement.

  • WHILE MY OPPONENT WAS CHASTISING THOSE CALLING FOR MIKE DEWINE'S IMPEACHMENT, I WAS FIGHTING THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO KEEP MY BUSINESS OPEN FOR NON-COMPLIANCE TO MASKING MANDATES. I was using THE LAW to fight the health department on mask “mandates”. The department served me with repeated violations and eventually filed suit against me …which was dismissed only days later as they had no leg to stand on. TODAY, WE KNOW THAT MASKS UNEQUIVOCALLY DO NOT WORK. FAUCI AND THE CDC ADMITTED THIS IN CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS. MY CASE WAS EVENTUALLY DISMISSED. HAS DEWINE PAID FOR HIS LAWLESSNESS?

  • Jane Timken

  • Successful Business Owner

  • Lawyer

  • Former State Republican Chair that did not implement significant reforms within the party

  • Lost a US Senate Race badly

  • Supported Governor DeWine's policies through the pandemic

  • Lied to Republicans about making no endorsements prior to the primary to get elected chair and then broke her word

  • Timken Co. has instituted "woke" ideologic recognition programs that support radical LGBTQ+ programs

  • Timken Co. voluntarily participates in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs that pushes ESG (Environmental Social Governance) and radical environmental policies

  • While Timken Co and its charitable foundations seem to have no problems donating to "woke" organizations - we can not find records of the company or foundations donating to conservative grassroots activist.

  • Made excuses for US House Representative Anthony Gonzales voting to impeach Trump

  • Booed by Republicans at a Donald Trump Rally

  • The largest political scandal in Ohio history happened on Jane Timken's watch with Jane being oblivious to what was going on

Republicans must scrutinize Jane Timken thoroughly. The company bearing her name adopts notably liberal and strident policies, in stark contrast to the staunch positions championed by the National Republican Party. It prompts a crucial question: If Mrs. Timken struggles to maintain alignment within her own organization, what assurance do we have of her suitability for the State Central Committee?

Unlike my opponent, I do believe that Governor broke the law when he suspended "due process" and "equal application of the law." This was a violation or Article 1 Section 18 of the Ohio Constitution that only allows the General Assembly to suspend laws.

My opponent was on record stating that she was against endorsements before the primary and wanted to let the Ohio voters be heard. Unfortunately, after she was elected she did an about face and supported the DeWine Husted ticket before the primary.

My opponent 's handpicked successor appears to have knowingly broken the law to circumvent Ohio campaign finance limits -helping corporations to give directly to candidates. This furthers my premise that the Republican party leadershipsells the party to the highest bidder

WE NEED TO BUILD TRUST AND FOLLOW THE RULE OF LAW

ORP leaders traditionally (~last 40 years) fail to uphold honesty and adhere to Ohio law. Disingenuity is the norm. Legitimate criticisms are met with their feigned outrage which shields their ulterior motives. Because ORP leaders cannot muster the will to pass conservative policies that provide prosperity; they fail the Republican base, diminish morale, and turn off the would-be Republicans in Ohio's vast pool of unaffiliated voters. Furthering the absence of passion for the Republican brand, extending the elusivity of tangible accomplishments for concerned Ohioans, and selling out the party to the highest special-interest bidder, ORP leaders direct the movement of contributions between candidates and donors by circumventing Ohio's campaign finance laws. This money laundering machine is the single largest contributor that attributes Ohio's resemblance to large, corrupt Democrat-controlled cities.

SHOOTING OURSELVES IN THE FOOT

Gubernatorial candidate Mary Taylor got it right. Imagine investing millions of dollars and working very hard on your campaign just to have the party come in and give your competitor an unfair advantage. Mary Taylor sunk $3 million of her own money into her campaign only to have it torpedoed by the State Central Committee. This sets an example that will dissuade good candidates from running for office for fear of throwing their money away. The Ohio Republican Party made an endorsement without requiring at least three debates so at least the people could choose who was the better candidate. Instead - DeWine used his influence on the State Central Committee members to shortchange the process. Who let all this happen? Jane Timken did. If we want good candidates stepping up to the plate we need to get the corruption and back door dealings out of the party. NO ENDORSEMENTS BEFORE THE PRIMARY!

THROWING GASOLINE ON THE FIRE

Article III - Section 7 of the Ohio Republican Party by laws state "No officer or member of the Committee shall have any power to bind this Committee by any financial contract or obligation except as provided by these rules, or by resolution property adopted by a majority of the members of the Committee present and voting and property recorded by the Secretary in the minutes of the Committee." The fiscal review committee which approves the budget had no knowledge of the transaction and neither did the budget oversight committee.

Nowhere else in the bylaws of the ORP does it give the Chairman and treasurer the unilateral power to write checks without the approval of the State Central Committee.

Prior to the Ohio 2022 primary election, and before any endorsements were made, Chairman Paduchik moved over $1 million dollars to Mike DeWine's and Dave Yost's political campaign. Additionally, hundreds of thousands of dollars of In-kind contributions were made to those campaigns in the form of staff. Also keep in mind that Paduchik got his political start with Mike DeWine and he is a close friend.

The letter is absolutely correct that these funds cannot be earmarked for candidates. It is also correct that these officials have not been endorsed yet. What is incorrect is that Chairman Paduchik had no right, according to many State Central Committee members, to write checks to these candidates.

We cannot have this type of unethical behavior persist - where the Chair of the party is the sole kingmaker. The Chair must be held accountable and no funds should be spent unless approved through a budget presented to the entire State Central Committee.

The Optics of This are Horrible and Diminish the Power of the State Central Committee
